Born in Lekh Ram Nagar Qadian, Punjab to Dr. Kedar Nath Malhan, and Mrs. Prem Lata Malhan, Ramesh comes from a family of spiritual, progressive leaders. His brother S. C. Malhan retired as Air Vice Marshal, the other Late Naresh Malhan was instrumental in building Pt. Lekh Ram Samarak in Qadian, the youngest, Dr. Yogesh Malhan has been active in Arya Samaj of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. His father, a Doctor, and President Municipal Committee, and President of DAV institutions in Qadian, President Pt. Lekh Ram samara, was a devotee of Arya Samaj. Ramesh was educated at the DAV School Qadian and was influenced by Arya Samaj teachings. A graduate of Meerut University and former professor at the Sikh National College Qadian, he moved to Chicagoland area in 1978 and worked as a chemist in Coatings Industry. He has been actively involved with Hindu Satsang, Hari Om Mandir and Arya Samaj of Chicagoland for several decades. He served as Secretary of Arya Samaj of Chicagoland, President of Hindu Society of Chicago, General Secretary of Hindu Satsang and Secretary of UPA (United Punjabis of America). He is sought after by members of the community to perform havan and spends his free time to spread awareness on Hinduism, Arya Samaj and the Vedic mantras across the Chicagoland area. He is married to Shubh Lata with whom he has two children and seven grandchildren.
