Chicago Vedic Sanskriti School

Chicago’s Vedic Sanskriti School (VSS) for youth from ages K – 12, welcomes young families in the Chicagoland region to learn about our Vedic principles, Vedic Dharma, Indian culture and heritage.

After a great success of VSS 2021-22 school year, we are bringing VSS on-site/on-line from your own Chicagoland. It is a great opportunity for the students and the parents to learn and interact with great experienced scholars and learn how to apply Vedic values to everyday life. Our goal is to create leaders for the next generation who will carry on our Vedic Values.

Core Subjects: Dharma/ Naitik Shiksha(moral teachings) and Hindi (Spoken, Reading and writing)

” Vedic” means “From the Vedas”; “Sanskriti” is “culture, refinement”.

Vedic Sanskriti is relevant and beneficial to people of all creeds and cultures. Our school thus welcomes families and children of all backgrounds.

What are the Vedas?

● Veda (from the Sanskrit root word “vid” – “to know”) is Knowledge revealed to the Rishis

● The foundation of our Dharma (Mode of Life)

● Preserved by oral tradition

● Codified into four books over the ages – Rigved, Yajurved, Saamved and Atharvaved

● Hymns, guidance and philosophy in Vedic Sanskrit

Vishwa Guru: India has been known as “The Teacher to the World” as reflected in the famous words of Will Durant –

“India was the motherland of our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe’s languages: she was the mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity; mother, through the village community, of self-government and democracy.

Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all.”
Fostering Vedic Values: VSS will enrich children’s understanding of Indian achievements in Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Medicine, Aviation, Cosmology, Yoga and Philosophy which led to the birth of the world’s earliest universities and medical centers in India.

At a time when young people face immense pressure from all sides, increased loneliness, addiction, depression and constant comparison through social media, we hope to build mental and emotional resilience through ancient Vedic teachings and a peer community. It is both our privilege and responsibility to invest in the foundation of our youth and help them shape productive, peaceful and happy lives.

We welcome each of your participation. Join us to volunteer as a teacher, in coordinating activities, preparing materials and invest in our youth today for leaders of tomorrow!

Registrations are now open. For questions please contact us at vss@aryasamajchicago.com.
